This just in: Rachel Zegler is set to star in Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White.

Deadline confirmed the news earlier today, revealing that 20-year-old actress will lead the untitled movie. Shortly after the news broke, Zegler celebrated the casting announcement on Twitter, writing, “I HAVE MANIFESTED MY ENTIRE LIFE I THINK I THINK.”

Even director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) released a statement, which read: “Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale.”

The new movie is based on the beloved fairytale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which tells the story of a princess who’s trying to escape the wrath of her evil stepmother. The animated movie originally debuted in 1937, but it’s been adapted several times. (See: Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman.)

Rachel Zegler is an up-and-coming actress, who’s making her feature film debut later this year. Not only is she starring as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story, but she’s also appearing in the Shazam sequel.

Disney hasn’t released any further details about the ensemble cast or premiere date. However, production on the live-action Snow White movie is expected to begin sometime in 2022.
