Just when we were about to finish the last episode of our latest binge (aka Hollywood), Netflix came to the rescue and announced a release date for season five of Queer Eye (along with a first look poster).
And this season, the Fab Five is heading to Philadelphia. The new photo shows Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture) and Tan France (Fashion) sailing with the city’s skyline in the background—a play on the 1851 portrait of George Washington crossing the Delaware River.
The gang is dressed to the nines tens in colonial costumes—featuring Porowski in a topcoat and hat and Van Ness rocking some sort of bonnet. France is proudly holding the QE flag as Brown points off in the distance.
“We're able to continue to champion diversity and I think that's what's so great about the fact that we get to travel and go to different cities because those experiences are so different,” Porowski said in an Entertainment Tonight exclusive. “With Philadelphia, it's a lot more cosmopolitan than the outskirts of Atlanta—even though we filmed in Atlanta, and we were really along the periphery in Kansas City as well. With Philly, we do have a lot more downtown stories and you kind of get to speak to that experience. And with cities like that, there's always an incredible amount of diversity, so there are very different stories and perspectives not only culturally but also age-wise.”
The new season will consist of ten 45-minute episodes, which are said to be (according to a press release) some of the most emotional ones yet, and hits Netflix on June 5th.
The City of Brotherly Love sounds like a great place for these five gentlemen.
