Queen Elizabeth Steps Out for Her First Royal Engagement of 2020

After a lengthy holiday break, Queen Elizabeth is finally returning to her royal duties.

Earlier today, the 93-year-old monarch attended her first official engagement of 2020 when she visited Royal Air Force Marham in King’s Lynn.

The royal wore an all-peach ensemble by her go-to designer Angela Kelly. She accessorized the look with a matching hat and a diamond bow brooch.

When she arrived, the queen was greeted by the Station Commander Group Captain James Beck and a Guard of Honor. After getting a tour of the Integrated Training Centre, Queen Elizabeth watched a series of training demonstrations, including weapons loading and a canopy change.

The visit to RAF Marham should come as no surprise to royal aficionados, since the queen is an Honorary Air Commodore of the station. Still, the outing required the monarch to cut her holiday break short.

Every year, Queen Elizabeth visits her Sandringham estate and normally stays until February 6, which holds a bittersweet place in her heart. Not only is it the same day she became queen, but it also marks the day her father, King George VI, passed away.

Although we don’t know why she broke tradition this year, we don’t blame her for wanting to return to work to clear up any lingering drama. (*Cough, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, cough*)
