Princess Euphelma of Bhutan Just Secretly Tied the Knot (& We Have 2 Photos from the Wedding)

First it was Princess Beatrice. Then it was Princess Alexandra’s granddaughter, Flora Alexandra Ogilvy. And now, another royal has secretly tied the knot behind our back.

Yesterday, Princess Euphelma Choden Wangchuck of Bhutan married her longtime beau, Dasho Thinlay Norbu. The news broke after King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck (the bride’s half-brother) shared a slideshow of photos on his official Instagram account, announcing the exciting news.

The post features two pictures, which were taken just moments after the newlyweds said, “I do.” The first pic shows the bride and groom wearing traditional Bhutanese textiles, which complemented the colorful archway. The second image is another shot of the bride and groom—but this time, they’re standing inside the wedding venue: Dechencholing Palace.

The caption read, “29th October 2020. Her Royal Highness Princess Euphelma Choden Wangchuck married Dasho Thinlay Norbu in a Royal Wedding ceremony today. The Royal Wedding was held at Dechencholing Palace in Thimphu. The Royal Couple received the blessings of His Majesty The King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and His Holiness the Je Khenpo.”

Princess Euphelma Choden Wangchuck is the daughter of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and Her Majesty Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck. The caption confirmed that the princess has a passion for philanthropy: “As President of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee, Her Royal Highness represents Bhutan internationally to take forward the participation of Bhutanese athletes with disabilities in various global sporting events.”

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
