Princess Eugenie Thanks Healthcare Workers for ‘Saving Her Father-in-Law’s Life’ in Heartfelt Post

Princess Eugenie not only paid tribute to her own dad on Father’s Day, but also used the holiday to thank frontline workers who helped care for her father-in-law while he was sick with COVID-19.

The Princess of York shared an Instagram post on Sunday, expressing her gratitude for the workers at St. Mary’s, Chelsea and Royal Brompton Hospital who nursed George Brooksbank (father of Eugenie’s hubby, Jack) back to health after he contracted the virus. Luckily, “the miracle man” (a nickname George gave himself according to the 30-year-old) is healthy and back home with his family.

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at the Brompton Hospital for what you’ve done in saving my father-in-law’s life,” she said in the video. “From the bottom of my husband and my heart, we just wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done of the frontline, for risking your lives and those close to you, and just making sure that we can all be safe and sleep well at night.”

The slideshow also included two photos of George returning home with the assistance of healthcare workers.

“To quote George, ‘There was always somebody at hand. I want to offer profound thanks to everyone who was involved,’” part of the caption read. “‘It was a real eye-opener for somebody who has not been in hospital before for any length of time. I certainly owe them my life.’”

Happy Father’s Day, George!
