Princess Beatrice’s outfit paid tribute to her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. Not only did she wear an ivory Norman Hartnell dress that was previously donned by Her Majesty, but she also completed the look with the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, which is the same headpiece the queen wore on her wedding day in 1947.
We’re not totally surprised by the news, since Queen Elizabeth gave Princess Beatrice a super-special wedding gift ahead of the nuptials: her blessing. (It’s tradition for members of the royal family to receive the monarch’s approval prior to tying the knot.)
Princess Beatrice was originally supposed to get married on May 29 at St. James Palace’s Chapel Royal, but the ceremony was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
