Surprise! Princess Beatrice Secretly Tied the Knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Well, we woke up this morning to some exciting (and totally unexpected news). It appears while we were busy focusing on Princess Beatrice's new hairstyle and modeling portraits, the Princess of York quietly wed her fiancée Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Buckingham Palace broke the news in a statement, "The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11 a.m. on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines.”

The couple’s original wedding was supposed to take place on May 29 at St. James Palace’s Chapel Royal. Unfortunately, Beatrice, ninth in line to the throne and fifth eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth, was forced to postpone her nuptials as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

And while they originally had “no plans to switch venues or hold a bigger wedding” according to a spokesperson for the couple, it seems the duo had a change of heart and opted for an intimate ceremony instead. However, according to The Sun, Her Majesty couldn’t stay for all of the nuptials, due to another engagement involving the knighthood of Captain Tom Moore.

No word on if the family celebrated Beatrice and Edward’s “I dos” with a small reception, but we believe there eventually will be a large celebration where the entire royal family can attend.

Congrats, you two! Now if we could just get a few behind-the-scenes photos (we’re looking at you, Fergie).
