Princess Eugenie Reveals Princess Beatrice’s Secret Nickname

From “Sis” to “Munchkin,” we can think of a billion potential nicknames that Princess Eugenie might have for Princess Beatrice. “Beabea” was never one of the candidates…until now.

In honor of Beatrice’s 31st birthday last year, Eugenie shared a special tribute on Instagram and simultaneously revealed her sister’s nickname: Beabea.

“You have been bossing it since before I was born and continue to be the most wonderful person, friend and big sister… Happy Birthday to you Beabea!! Xx,” she wrote.

Other members of the royal family also celebrated Princess Beatrice’s birthday on Instagram.

Queen Elizabeth kicked things off and shared a photo on @theroyalfamily Instagram account of Beatrice waving on the steps of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on her sister, Princess Eugenie’s, wedding day.

Queen Elizabeth’s people captioned the snap, “Today is Princess Beatrice of York’s 31st Birthday. Princess Beatrice is the first child of @hrhthedukeofyork and Sarah, Duchess of York, and fifth grandchild of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. #HappyBirthdayHRH.” A rather serious and factual caption, don’t you think? At least a balloon emoji was tacked on to add a little whimsical edge.

Prince Andrew followed in his mom’s footsteps and penned a short but sweet note to his firstborn, which he started with a party hat emoji. (Wild.) The note accompanied a collage of four photos, including one of Princess Beatrice at her christening, one of her as a child, one from the 2015 Royal Ascot Day and another from Princess Eugenie’s wedding, where Princess Beatrice served as maid of honor.

“Happy Birthday Princess Beatrice! Thank you everyone for the lovely birthday wishes! #HappyBirthdayHRH,” the caption read.

Her mother, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, kept her Instagram post rather tame by Fergie standards. She shared a slideshow of photos spanning from Beatrice’s childhood (her little baby face! Her puppies!) to adulthood.

She simply captioned it, “Happy Birthday dearest Beatrice xx.”

We have to admit, Beabea is a very cute nickname. And, for the record, we’re adding “bossing it” to our vocabulary.
