Here’s How Princess Beatrice Will *Likely* Spend Her 32nd Birthday

From the surprise wedding to the unexpected honeymoon, we’ve been so distracted by royal events that we nearly overlooked Princess Beatrice’s upcoming birthday on August 8. So, how will she celebrate turning 32 amid the coronavirus pandemic?

Here’s what you need to know: The festivities will likely take place at Princess Beatrice’s apartment in central London. The royal used to share a flat at St. James’s Palace with Princess Eugenie, but they moved out when her sister married Jack Brooksbank.

As for activities, we wouldn’t be surprised if Princess Beatrice keeps it low-key, especially since she and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, recently returned from a mini honeymoon to the south of France. (They were spotted driving a small car that was packed to the brim with personal belongings.)

Since the entire royal family (including Queen Elizabeth) has been mastering the art of Zoom during self-isolation, the itinerary may include a group video call. Potential attendees include the queen, Prince Philip, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, Prince Andrew, Prince William, Kate Middleton and—dare we say—Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Sadly, there’s one royal tradition that Princess Beatrice will miss out on. Westminster Abbey typically rings in birthdays of the royal family quite literally, by chiming the church’s bells. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ritual has been suspended. It was expected to resume in August, but as we continue to combat the virus, its return has been postponed (yet again).

Regardless, we expect the virtual birthday tributes for Princess Beatrice to be aplenty.
