The Royal Family Just Shared Photos of Princess Anne Over the Last 5 Decades

There's nothing we love like rare throwbacks, and the latest post from the royal family comes across like a homemade photo album.

The series of photos were shared in honor of Princess Anne's longstanding relationship to the Riding for the Disabled Association Incorporating Carriage Driving in the UK (RDAUK). The Princess Royal, who has maintained a lifelong love of horseback riding (and even competed in the equestrian Olympics), has been involved with the organization since the ’70s.

To mark the princess's 50 years with the charity, the royal family shared a slideshow with the caption, “Celebrating 50 years of The Princess Royal’s connection to the @rdauk. HRH, who became Patron in 1971 and President in 1985, is a keen supporter of the charity that provides riding and carriage driving opportunities for over 25,000 children and adults.”

Of course, Princess Anne wanted to do something special for the anniversary, and in the caption, they added, “To mark 50 years since taking on the Patronage, the new Princess Royal Coaching Academy was launched today, which will enable the RDA to improve learning opportunities for their coaches.”

The selection of photos show the Princess Royal's commitment to the organization over the last fifty years, and it's also an exciting journey from black-and-white snaps of the young princess to more modern-day shots.

Throughout the past week, the RDAUK have shared their own throwbacks, including one from 1982, where they said, “The Princess has opened hundreds of groups for RDA in her 50 years of involvement with RDA. Pictured here is the Princess opening the Cotswold RDA in 1982...The Princess always takes time to talk to our RDA volunteers and participants, and visits a number of our groups every year.”

Congrats on 50 years, Princess Anne!
