The Royal Family Celebrates Princess Anne's Birthday with Special Posts (Including One Major Throwback)
It's a big day for one member of the royal family: Princess Anne.
The Princess Royal is celebrating her 71st birthday today, which was marked with a gorgeous shot on the official royal family Instagram account. They posted a close-up of the princess wearing a white top and one of her many signature hats. In the caption they said, “Wishing HRH The Princess Royal a happy birthday today!” The image was overlaid with some stickers, including a slice of birthday cake, as well as some colorful balloons and stars.
Following the first image, they shared a few more shots of the royal on their Story and said, “Swipe up to find out more about HRH's work, charities and patronages.”
When you click on the link, it takes you to her page on the royal family website, where they say, “The Princess Royal has a busy schedule of engagements which see her travel widely across the UK and overseas. Known for her love of horses and an equestrian career which saw her compete in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, Her Royal Highness is involved with riding for the disabled organisations across the Commonwealth. Much of her time is also spent supporting the work of Save the Children, of which she has been President since 1970.”
However, that wasn't the only post made for Her Royal Highness. On the Clarence House Instagram, they shared a super rare photo of a young Prince Charles and his sister. They wrote, “Wishing The Princess Royal a very Happy Birthday today. In this photo from 1951, The Prince of Wales squeezes his younger sister’s hand while sitting in their prams in the Clarence House garden.”
Happy birthday, Princess Anne!
