Palace Releases Never-Before-Heard Audio of Prince William Thanking Selfless Hospital Workers

Prince William just took a moment to issue a heartfelt show of support for the hospital workers risking their lives in the United Kingdom.

This week, Kensington Palace released audio of the 37-year-old Duke of Cambridge speaking with staff members at two different U.K. hospitals and thanking them for their dedication during this time of hardship. Prince William’s emotional sign of gratitude was shared on his and Kate Middleton’s shared @KensingtonPalace Instagram account.

“We’d just like to say from the two of us how proud we are of all of you and how amazingly you are all doing under extreme circumstances,” he began, referencing himself and the 38-year-old Duchess of Cambridge. “The whole country is proud of you—so thank you for everything you’re doing and all the hours you are putting in.”

Both he and Middleton spoke with workers from Queen’s Hospital Burton in Staffordshire, England, and the University Hospital Monklands in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, as the impact of the pandemic mounts. According to their post’s caption, they learned about “the personal and professional lives of staff” and listened as the National Health Service workers, “including doctors and nurses,” shared stories of the support and care they’ve received from their community through these unprecedented times.

William’s meaningful words, in addition to Queen Elizabeth’s poignant address over the weekend, were proof that the palace is taking this time to show support and compassion for all those impacted by the coronavirus.

Now more than ever, we can all benefit from a little positivity and support from afar.
