Prince William Is Making His TED Talk Debut This Weekend—& You Can Watch it for Free

We never thought we’d see the day, but Prince William is joining the world of TED Talks and his big debut is sooner than you think.

On Saturday, the Duke of Cambridge will give his first TED Talk during Countdown—TED's first free and virtual conference devoted entirely to tackling global warming. The 38-year-old royal’s conversation topic? Climate change, of course.

In anticipation of the milestone event, Kensington Palace shared a sneak peek on its social media platforms. “The shared goals for our generation are clear—together we must protect and restore nature, clean our air, revive our oceans, build a waste-free world and fix our climate,” Will says in the clip. “And we must strive to do all of this in a decade. If we achieve these goals, by 2030 our lives won’t be worse and we won’t have to sacrifice everything we enjoy. Instead, the way we live will be healthier, cleaner, smarter and better for all of us.”

The prince won’t be the only famous face participating in the conference, which takes place Saturday, October 10 from 11 a.m-5 p.m. ET. He will also be joined by Chris Hemsworth, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Don Cheadle and Al Gore. Not to mention, a handful of scientists, entrepreneurs, activists will also be making an appearance.

William’s talk comes at an ideal time, considering the duke launched his latest environmental initiative, called the Earthshot Prize, this week. The new program is offering $65 million to provide “solutions to the world’s greatest environmental problems” over the next ten years.

You can catch the free livestream on TED’s YouTube Channel. We’ll certainly be there.
