He may be the future king of England, but that’s not Prince William’s only job. He’s also father to Prince George and Princess Charlotte (and a third child on the way), and a recent encounter has given him an important lesson in parenting.
While attending the Pride of Britain Awards earlier this week, Prince William chatted with 5-year-old Suzie McCash, who recently saved her mother’s life by calling 999 (the British equivalent of 911). The royal was highly impressed by Suzie’sactions and admitted that he didn’t know what Prince George would do in an emergency.
“I have a 4-year-old called George, and if I gave him a telephone, I do not know what he would do... And do you know what? I’m going to have a conversation with my George about what to do because of what you’ve done. It’s really important,” Prince William said to the brave little girl.
Suzie was honored at the London event with a Child of Courage honor. Well deserved, we say. (And a valuable lesson to all parents out there.)
