Prince William Keeps These 2 Romantic Mementos In Kensington Palace

No matter how busy the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may be, it seems Prince William finds a way to keep Kate Middleton close at heart, even when she's not around.

In a shot from a meeting between the duke and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, People spotted two tributes to Middleton that were visible in the pic. To the left of the room, behind Khan's shoulder, a framed portrait from Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement announcement sits on the table. The couple first announced their engagement back in November of 2010 and they were married the following April.

While the commemorative photo is quite notable, there is also a more recent wink to Middleton. On the ottoman in front of Khan sits Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020. The coffee table book was a community project launched by Middleton, who wanted to collect photos that helped “capture the spirit, the mood, the hopes, the fears and the feelings of the U.K.” during the coronavirus pandemic. Now, Prince William keeps his wife's book front and center.

The photo was taken in a meeting room of Kensington Palace, where Prince William welcomes various dignitaries and political officials. Since Kensington Palace is the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it's good to see that the royal is willing to put some personal touches in the space where he does business too.

The meeting was part of the duke's latest venture, the Earthshot Prize Awards. In case you're unaware, the Earthshot Prize is a $65 million gift to those who are helping to make a difference in climate change. This year, the duke is planning on broadcasting a ceremony that honors the finalists, along with the announcement of the first five winners.

We can never get enough of this royal couple.
