Prince William Dishes on Princess Charlotte’s Sixth Birthday Party: ‘It Was Great Fun’

We finally know a *few* details about how Princess Charlotte spent her sixth birthday.

Earlier today, Prince William visited the Babcock Vehicle Engineering facility and spoke with employees about his three children: Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3). It wasn’t long before the Duke of Cambridge, 38, was asked about Princess Charlotte’s birthday celebration, which took place on May 2.

He summed it up pretty succinctly: “She had a lovely day, thank you,” Prince William said, according to Hello! magazine.

The proud dad explained that Char’s sixth birthday party was far more exciting than last year, since they were able to expand the guest list to include another family. “Last year it was her birthday in lockdown, but this year we were able to have one other family over,” Prince William added. “They grow up very fast. It was great fun.”

The purpose of the visit was for Prince William to learn more about Babcock Vehicle Engineering’s vital role during the coronavirus pandemic, since the company created a new ventilator prototype.

The outing comes just a few days after the royal family celebrated Princess Charlotte’s birthday by releasing a brand-new portrait. The photo, which was taken by Kate Middleton, shows the young royal posing for the camera in a blue floral dress.

There’s no word on whether the day involved two of Charlotte’s favorite pastimes—flossing and spider-hunting—but we can only hope so.
