Prince William Opens Up About the ‘Hardest’ Dinnertime Struggle With His Kids

Mealtime with children is no easy feat, even in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s household.

The Duke of Cambridge recently sat down for a virtual chat with the PEEK Project, a charity that has been providing hundreds of meals per day to families affected by the current coronavirus pandemic.

During the call, the father of three talked with staff about the importance of delivering healthy and nutritious food to the families. He even revealed that getting his kids, Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (5) and Prince Louis (2) to sit down for dinner all depends on what's on the menu. We can totally relate.

"It depends on what's on the table though Charlie, isn't it?” William asked Community Chef Charlie. “And that's the thing. If parents put something on children love, dinnertime goes on very well. But if you put something on the table they don't want to do, that's another ball game.”

Dinner isn’t the only difficult time of day at the couple’s Norfolk home (where they are currently self-isolating). The Duchess of Cambridge recently made an appearance on British TV show This Morning and opened up about the challenges of homeschooling her two eldest children.

“George gets very upset because he wants to do all of Charlotte's projects…making sort of spider sandwiches is far cooler than literacy work,” Middleton said. We don’t blame him.

While we don’t exactly know how to tackle the homework issue, we bet if beetroot is on the menu, dinner will be a breeze.
