Will & Kate Got the Giggles at Their First Royal Event Together Since Prince Louis's Birth (and the Pictures Are Pure Gold)
Fresh off six months of maternity leave, Kate Middleton is already busy with royal engagements. She and Prince William just attended their first royal event together since the birth of Prince Louis in April.
Attending the first-ever Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit, the two looked happy to be back in action—so happy that they couldn’t pose for a photo without bursting into laughter. (We’ve all been there.) Luckily, the sweet moment was caught on camera.
Kate wore (ahem, re-wore) a lilac Emilia Wickstead dress paired with nude pumps and an Aspinal of London handbag, while William looked dapper in a black suit. They posed on the Friendship Bench, which, according to Kensington Palace, is “used by specially trained community grandmothers in Zimbabwe as a place to listen to and support people with mental health conditions.”
The goal of the summit (on the heels of World Mental Health Day, October 10) is to promote better mental health for all. At the event, Will and Kate met with activists and representatives and attended a workshop on mental health outreach for mothers.
The two also contributed some brushstrokes to artist Dairo Vargas’s painting. Kate, who studied art history, added to the shoulder, while William joked that she’d “pretty much ruined the picture.”
Funny moment today as William and Kate join artist Dario Vargas, a contemporary fine artist from Columbia, who is painting an original piece inspired by the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit. William originally nominated his wife to have a go ?as she is the arty one?! pic.twitter.com/r3a1zM3HV5? Rebecca English (@RE_DailyMail) October 9, 2018
Guys, we’re so glad to have you back.
