Kate Middleton and Prince William are ~literally~ following in younger in-laws Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's footsteps for their next royal visit.
Kensington Palace Just Revealed Prince William and Kate Middleton's Next Big Royal Outing
The Cambridges will travel to Birkenhead, Merseyside, England next week, on September 26, Kensington Palace just revealed.
The trip comes just eight months after Meghan and Harry visited the town for their first joint public engagement of 2019 (and who could forget the jaw-droppingly bright purple-and-red color combo of the duchess's outfit as she cradled her then-six-months pregnant baby bump?).
According to K.P., the Cambridges' trip will see Kate and William attend the naming ceremony of the U.K.'s new polar research ship, the RRS Sir David Attenborough. The ship will allow "world-leading research to be carried out in Antarctica and the Arctic over the next 25 to 30 years," according to Daily Mail correspondent Rebecca English.
But will we even really notice this joint engagement for the royal couple? Meghan and Harry (and baby Archie!) are set to embark on their Royal Tour of Africa next week. The Sussexes will land in Cape Town, South Africa, on September 23, and be three days into their big royal tour (and royal tour outfits...hello!!!) when the Cambridges travel to Birkenhead...so expect a huge week for the entire royal family.
Time to break out those nautical stripes, Your Royal Highnesses. (Though, that shouldn't be a problem for you two skippers.)
