Prince William Steps Out for First Official Engagement Since Summer Break

Prince William is back to business after a well-spent summer vacation.

In honor of 999 Day (also known as Emergency Services Day) on Thursday, the Duke of Cambridge paid a visit to South London to see first responders and NHS workers, as well as members of the community who have been helped by them. The duke’s official Instagram account shared a handful of snaps from the event and even provided a bit of information on the attendees.

Per the caption, William met with a 5-year-old named Lila, who was “successfully resuscitated after she collapsed” by ambulance technician Charlotte, along with firefighters Marc and James. The message continued, “Police Constables Ryan and Ahmet acted quickly to save the life of then six-year-old Noura, who had received appalling injuries at the hands of her father. Ravi was rescued by the RNLI after being dragged out to sea—he remembered their ‘Float to Live’ advice and was able to remain afloat for almost an hour before being rescued.”

Fans and followers were thrilled to see the 39-year-old back in action. One IG user commented on the post, “Glad to see His Royal Highness again,” while a second added, “Good to see him back! Such a lovely event and wonderful stories.”

William isn’t the only one getting back to work. Both of his aunts, Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, were spotting carrying out royal duties this week (including one joint appearance).

Great to have you back, Will! We can’t wait to see you and Kate Middleton at a joint engagement.
