Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Attended a Christening Today and Harry Was Given a Brand-New Role

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently stepped out in honor of his cousin Zara and her husband Mike Tindall’s newest addition, Lena.

Yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited St. Nicholas Church in Cherington, Gloucestershire, to celebrate the christening of baby Lena. The couple arrived at the event with Queen Elizabeth, so yeah, it’s a pretty big deal.

During the ceremony, Prince Harry took on a new role: godfather. Although it’s his first time, the 34-year-old royal should be no stranger to what it entails, considering his brother, Prince William, is also a godparent to the Tindall’s oldest daughter, Mia (5).

Back in June 2018, Zara and Mike welcomed their second child at the Stroud Maternity Unit and named her Lena Elizabeth Tindall. According to royal reporter Emily Nash, they chose the name Lena (pronounced Lay-na) simply because they liked it. Elizabeth is a nod to the child’s great-grandmother, the queen. (Natch.)

And hey, at least Prince Harry is getting some practice for his own baby’s christening.
