Eviction Notice! Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Receive Bad News About Former U.K. Residence Frogmore Cottage

It’s been more than three years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they were stepping down as senior royals. And now, the reality of their departure is finally setting in.

This week, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that the couple has been asked to vacate their former U.K. residence, Frogmore Cottage. Although they currently reside in California, they usually stay at the Windsor home during their trips to the U.K.

According to The Sun, King Charles already has a tenant for Frogmore Cottage. The outlet reported that the monarch gave the keys to his brother, Prince Andrew.

Prince Harry and Markle moved to Frogmore Cottage in 2019 before the birth of their son, Archie. (They were previously staying at Nottingham Cottage.) They did extensive renovations on the residence—so much so that the cost totaled around $3 million. The couple stayed at the cottage until they stepped down as senior royals.

After their departure, the space was loaned to other family members—like Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank—but it was still considered the Sussexes’ official U.K. residence. In fact, they stayed at Frogmore Cottage when they traveled to London for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. They even celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday in the backyard.

The odds of Prince Harry and Markle attending King Charles’s upcoming coronation seem to be dwindling by the day.
