Rumors are swirling about what’s next for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they announced they’re stepping down as senior members of the royal family. Will they stay in the U.K.? Will they permanently move to Canada? And, most importantly, what would their dual residency mean for their dogs?
It appears some big changes are in store for the couple’s two furry family members: a beagle named Guy and a black Labrador retriever whose name is still unknown. Multiple outlets have reported that Prince Harry and Markle already brought the dogs to Canada, which is where the duchess has been staying during their “period of transition.”
While we don’t know if it’s permanent, we highly doubt the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would fly their dogs across the world only to bring them back to the U.K. A source even told The Daily Mail that another move is highly unlikely, especially given Guy’s mature age.
“Both the duke and duchess adore their dogs, and Guy has already been relocated from Canada to London once when Meghan moved over,” the source said. “She wouldn’t have considered a move again for him if it wasn’t going to be at least semi-permanent.”
