Prince Harry is speaking out about the importance of building the travel industry back up, while simultaneously giving us another rare look inside his L.A. home.
On Thursday, the Duke of Sussex addressed the virtual Global Summit of his key environmental tourism initiative, Travalyst. During the chat, he spoke about the effects the current coronavirus pandemic have had on travel both nationally and internationally.
"None of us could have predicted the global shock and impact that Covid-19 is having on the world—especially on travel and the local communities that depend on tourism,” Harry said. “Many of you joining us today rely on visitors for your livelihoods—businesses are hurting significantly. I’ve heard from some of you that are struggling to put food on your family's tables and to make ends meet—because there are no tourists and therefore no income. We need to build back, but we need to build back better.”
As we previously mentioned, the clip was shot from the duke’s new California home which he shares with Meghan Markle and baby Archie. In the video, we get a glimpse of a corner of the house featuring cream walls and two windows with dark oak frames (it seems like he was shooting at night). The 35-year-old royal sat on a matching oak armchair with a vase of cream orchids—to match the walls obviously—placed next to his left shoulder.
This is the second behind-the-scenes look Harry has given us recently. Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex shared a special video message for the opening ceremony of the AIDS 2020 Conference. The clip, which was shot outside of the Los Angeles residence, showed the duke surrounded by greenery.
Foliage outside and inside? We bet Harry is the one with the green thumb.
