Prince George just debuted a new ’do on his way to his great-gran’s Christmas luncheon on Wednesday, and it’s a big change for the 5-year-old.
Photographed in the back seat of William and Kate’s car entering Buckingham Palace for the queen’s annual Christmas lunch, George’s new hairstyle appears to be a formal look. His hair is slicked back and side parted, and he didn’t even get this fancy for Aunt Meghan and Uncle Harry’s wedding in May, or for the recently released Cambridge family Christmas card. (Typically, George styles his hair with some slight fringe in front of his forehead, sans gel/water/combing.)
Clearly, he doesn’t look suuuper happy about it (judging by his red cheeks and pouty lips), so he may not have had much say in the matter. (Or maybe Charlotte gave him a tough time for the noticeable switch?)
The fancy change might be due to the fact he’s got a lot of family to impress. Besides George’s sister, Princess Charlotte, 3, their cousins Isla Phillips, 6, and Mia Tindall, 4, will all be in attendance at the queen’s party.
And what good is a family get-together unless you’re one-upping your relatives? George totally gets it.
