Prince Charles Reportedly Has a Unique Nickname for Meghan Markle (Spoiler: It’s Not ‘Meg’)

Meghan Markle sure has a lot of names (Rachel and the Duchess of Sussex for starters). Well, it's time to add another to the list, this one bestowed upon her by Prince Charles.

The Prince of Wales apparently has a special nickname for his daughter-in-law: “Tungsten.” According to Cosmo, the 71-year-old gave Markle the name after he likened her tough personality to the metal with the highest melting point. Interesting.

The Daily Mail reported that according to sources, "Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy. It's become a term of endearment.”

The future king and Duchess of Sussex have developed a close relationship as father-in-law and daughter-in-law following her marriage to Prince Harry. Makes sense, considering he did walk her down the aisle in place of her own father. 

And that's not the only term of endearment Markle has been given behind closed doors. Prince Harry also has a sweet (only this time, totally normal) nickname for his wife. He let it slip at 2018’s Invictus Games reception in Sydney, Australia. The name? “Meg.” Just Meg. In return, she calls him “H,” which is very Gossip Girl if you ask us.

OK. We’ll admit that Meg is cute. But we still feel a little weird about the first one. Tungsten, Duchess of Sussex...can you imagine?
