It’s been three months since Pretty Little Liars ended its seven-season run, but the liars aren’t ready to admit they’re pathological yet. In fact, they’re perfectionists.
Freeform announced that PLL has received the green light for a spin-off series dubbed Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. The show will be based on another book series by PLL author Sara Shepard, The Perfectionists, and will be adapted for television by show runner I. Marlene King. Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish will reprise their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal, respectively, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In an official statement released yesterday, Karey Burke, Freeform’s executive VP of programming and development, explained the network’s decision to revive the popular series. She said, “Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon, so it’s no wonder fans wanted more. We can’t wait to continue Marlene King's rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did.”
More “A” drama? We’ve got this, ladies.
