Color Cloud Hair Is the Dreamiest Trend to Try This Spring

Pastel hair has been trending for the past few years and it doesn't look to be going anywhere anytime soon. The biggest (and, um, only) knock on it (for us anyway) is that unless you're blonde, you have to bleach your hair first for the color to show.

Josh Wood, global color creative director for Redken, got around this by painting extensions with shades of pink, coral and seafoam green before blending them into the models' hair at Mary Katrantzou's fashion show over the weekend. The dreamy palette was swirled together creating what Wood aptly describes as a "color cloud effect." (Prepare to loop this video of him in action.)

And if painting swaths of extensions sounds like a rather cumbersome task (yup), you can try color clouding your ends with some temporary tints.

Some of our favorites: L'Oréal Paris Colorista ($8); Kristen Ess Temporary Tint ($12); Kevin Murphy Color Bug ($15)
