After Tayshia Adams replaced Clare Crawley as the lead of The Bachelorette, we knew it would take a lot to top the drama that ensued in season 16. Everything changed when ABC named not one, but two new Bachelorettes for season 19: Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia

Although this double-whammy format had never been done before, we can’t deny that it was a fantastic way to regenerate some excitement around the franchise after the recent yawn-worthy seasons. And now, the popular dating franchise has decided to return to its original format for season 20 and has just named a new Bachelorette: Charity Lawson.

During the Women Tell All special, host Jesse Palmer asked Charity Lawson if she wanted to be the next Bachelorette and she eagerly accepted the offer without hesitation.

“I’ve waited forever to find the love of my life,” Lawson tearfully explained. “It blows my mind that I could meet my person and be engaged and literally have my happily ever after.”

Lawson also shared with Palmer that she is so excited to step into this important role. “I can't wait to show little girls that look like me being in a position like this is possible. I know that I'll be making a lot of people proud.”
