It’s safe to say Oprah Winfrey has a lot on her plate. And yet, when Apple announced Apple TV + yesterday, the 65-year-old media mogul was right there alongside CEO Tim Cook. Why? Well, we’re finally going to see the fruits of Queen O’s multi-year Apple deal labor.
In addition to Winfrey’s popular podcast, magazine, TV network and 60 Minutes gig, she’s now releasing two documentaries on the fruit’s new streaming service. Winfrey explained that one yet to be titled doc will focus on mental health, and the other, Toxic Labor, will center on sexual assault in the workplace.
Additionally, the What I Know for Sure author is bringing her beloved book club to Apple platforms. As she explained during the announcement event, “For me, there’s nothing more thrilling than being transported by a brilliant book. Nothing.”
Winfrey went on to say, “The only thing, actually, more gratifying than an extraordinary read is being able to share that experience with others, and we’re going to do just that by building the biggest, the most vibrant, the most stimulating book club on the planet.”
