You Guys, Olivia Colman Just Went Blonde For the Oscars

Most red carpet looks are all about what you’re wearing, but in Olivia Colman’s case, her gown plays second fiddle to her stunning new hairdo.

Today, the 46-year-old actress arrived at the 92nd annual Academy Awards, debuting a platinum blonde makeover, and it totally suits her complexion.

This isn’t the first time Colman has sported blonde hair. Still, the actress has favored auburn and chestnut shades for the past few years, so it definitely caught us off guard. Hairstylist Marcus Francis is responsible for the new look and even documented the process on his Instagram Story.

At the Oscars, Colman stole the show in a stunning blue velvet gown by Stella McCartney, which features statement shoulders and a long train. She accessorized the look with a bejeweled clutch (natch).

The Crown star isn’t nominated for any Academy Awards this year, though she won’t be completely excluded from the ceremony. Since she won last year’s Oscar for Best Actress, Colman will present the 2020 award for Best Actor, which many believe will go to Joaquin Phoenix for Joker.

Still, one question remains: Do blondes really have more fun?
