Is it really the Fourth of July without at least one kid (or adult) running around in an Old Navy flag tee? Not to us, and not to the Vogel-Armstrong family either, who made the sweetest tribute with their classic tees.
According to a PR rep for Old Navy, the family used to dress up in their flag tees for every July Fourth celebration for the last 20 years. “Shortly after being re-diagnosed with cancer, the late Peggy Armstrong made an impressive quilt as a tribute of the tees and family memories collected over the years as a gift to her family,” the email reads.
Now, the tradition has been passed on to Peggy’s kids and grandkids, who will continue to wear the flag tees for their annual family photo, while the quilt commemorates the tradition that will live on for generations to come.
We’re not sobbing all over our keyboard, you are. (After ordering this year’s flag tee for our fam barbecue, of course.)
