Ferrero Secretly Changed the Nutella Recipe and the Internet Is Not Having It
We’re pretty close with our chocolate-hazelnut friend Nutella. We’re happy to say that we sometimes eat it from the jar with a spoon. (Admit it, so do you.) So we knew something was up when our delicious, familiar spread started to taste...different. It turns out, we aren’t crazy: Ferrero has been secretly tweaking the Nutella recipe behind our back.
Ferrero has quietly increased both the sugar and powdered milk content in the spread, while lowering the amount of cocoa powder. And while this “fine-tuning” has decreased the overall fat content, megafans are not impressed. So naturally, they’re unleashing their wrath on Twitter.
It’s not us, Nutella. It’s you. Looks like we’ll just have to make our own.
