Nicki Minaj just confirmed what we all saw coming: She and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are expecting their first child.
Today, the 37-year-old rapper debuted her growing baby bump on Instagram by sharing a series of never-before-seen pics from her maternity photoshoot. Minaj kicked things off with a profile shot and wrote a caption announcing she’s “#Preggers.”
In the pic, the “Super Bass” singer is wearing a bikini with massive stilettos.
Minaj followed up with another bump photo—but this time, she’s wearing another decked-out lingerie ensemble.
The rapper concluded with one last picture cradling her pregnant belly.
The caption read, “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.”
The news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to fans, since pregnancy rumors started swirling back in May 2020. It all started when Minaj participated in a Q&A on Twitter, where she low-key teased that she’s expecting her first child with Petty.
When one user asked what she’s been cooking during self-quarantine, Minaj implied that she’s experiencing pregnancy cravings, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
She wrote, “Absolutely. Steak. Shrimp. Plus my famous cheeseburgers. So good. Been rlly having red meat cravings then salad cravings with extra jalapeños. Ordered Chkn nachos that didn’t come w/jalapeños. Who does that? Wow.”
Fans immediately picked up on her highly specific cravings, but things didn’t stop there. Minaj also joked about her symptoms, writing, “Lmao. No throwing up. But nausea and peeing nonstop. Omg what do u think this means guys???? Lmaooooooooooo.”
Minaj then addressed her impending baby bump debut.
When a fan asked, “Can you post a baby bump pic Queen?” She wrote, “Yea in a couple months. The world ain’t ready yet.”
Minaj tied the knot with Petty back in October 2019, so perhaps it was only a matter of time before they expanded their fam.
