Who doesn’t have fond memories of sitting around the kitchen table shouting “Uno!” while their brother seethed (seethed!) with jealousy?
Now the toy maker behind the popular card deck is releasing a new version, appropriately dubbed Dos. And here’s the good news for parents: The game is essentially the same as Uno, except with math involved.
Here’s how it works: First, each player is dealt seven cards. To play a card, they must match the card in the center with a card of the same value (just like in Uno). But here’s where the math part comes in. In Dos, players can play two cards in the center (instead of just one) if their values add up to the value of the center card.
So let’s say the center card is a 5. In regular Uno, you would have to play another 5, but in Dos you can play a 2 and a 3 (or a 4 and a 1). In other words, it’s a math lesson in game form.
Dos will be available exclusively at Target in March for $5.99 and will be available at more retailers in August.
