The series, which debuted at number one when it first premiered in February, is based on Kristin Hannah's novel of the same title and follows the long-term friendship between unlikely BFFs Tully (Heigl) and Kate (Chalke). According to the costars, further details about season are still unclear, but thankfully, fans won't have to wait much longer before they get answers.
After the actresses raised their wine glasses to celebrate the news, Chalke said, "We don't have all the answers yet, but trust us, it is going to be worth the wait. And we promise, all your questions will be answered."
She added, "We can't wait to continue on this journey of Tully and Kate with all of you in Firefly Lane season two."
We may not have plot details yet, but if you recall, Firefly Lane star Brandon Jay McLaren, who plays Travis, chatted with us about his predictions for season two's storyline. He told us, “When we go back. I’m going to be positive and put it out there: When we go back, my hope is that Travis and Kate are able to let their guard down a little more and go with the flow. And maybe recognize the feelings that they have for one another.”
A release date has yet to be confirmed, but it's likely that we'll see the new season air sometime in 2022. If you need us, we'll be keeping an eye out for that premiere date.
