It appears Special Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) isn’t going anywhere after all.
It all started yesterday when CBS debuted a brand-new teaser for NCIS during the Super Bowl. The video not only teases what’s to come in season 16, episode 13 of the popular series (which airs on Tuesday, February 12), but it also hints at a potential return of Ziva, who famously left the show in season 11.
In the teaser, the team reopens an old missing persons case after finding a malnourished child hiding in a storage unit. During the investigation, Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) finds notes that Ziva made about the case, and (*sniff, sniff*) is that a surprise cameo we smell?
The news might come as a shock to some fans, considering the character left the show back in 2013. Since then, we learned that Ziva had a child, Tali, with Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly). Although she was killed in a mortar attack by former CIA agent Trent Kort (David Dayan Fisher), her remains were never found. Dun dun dun.
So, will Ziva return to finish the job? Or will she appear only in flashbacks? Guess we’ll have to wait until NCIS returns to CBS on February 12 at 9 p.m.
