The first two seasons of the hit Netflix series Narcos cataloged drug kingpin Pablo Escobar's rise to infamy, but the season three teaser released today portrays the chaos that ensued following his assassination.
This first trailer for the drug cartel drama's third season promises “the rise of a new empire.” With Escobar (Wagner Moura) gone, a new leader must emerge, and that leader is Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela (Damián Alcázar) and his Cali Cartel. Nicknamed “The Chess Player” for his calm, cruel and calculated demeanor, Orejuela (historically) proved to be just as evil as his predecessor and will likely be just as entertaining to binge watch. Sadly, his mustache game is simply not as impressive.
Handsome civil servant Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) will unfortunately not be returning for the third season, but his DEA counterpart, Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) and all of his sexiness, will still be on the case.
The ever-addictive Narcos returns to Netflix on Friday, September 1.
