If you've ever scrolled through the Discover page of your Instagram, you probably know that the app's beauty scene is like the wild, wild west of makeup artists, weird treatments and viral trends. But one fad we're sorta on board with: mulled wine hair.
The hair color trend, named after the warm spiced red-wine drink, is a pretty blend of deep reds, chocolatey browns and warm berry undertones that give extra dimension to the garnet- and oxblood-hued locks.
According to PopSugar, the trend began taking off late last year, and has continued to grow in popularity since. Is it because of the delicious name, or maybe the way light reflects off the rich red and brown strands? Not sure if it'll have the lasting power of ombré or go the way of pumpkin spice hair (unnecessary spoiler alert: it's just orange).
So, yeah, it's basically a purple-y red dye job. But, we agree, mulled wine sounds way better.
