Netflix’s Take on ‘The Jungle Book’ Is Here & It Is *Dark*
We finally have a first look at Andy Serkis’s (Lord of the Rings) Jungle Book-based movie, and it’s a far stretch from “The Bare Necessities.” (You’ve been warned.)
Netflix just debuted a brand-new trailer for Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle and announced that it’s arriving much sooner than expected. Prior to hitting the streaming service on December 7, the film will be released in limited theaters on November 29. That’s 21 days, people.
In the trailer, we’re reintroduced to the young boy (Rohan Chand) who was raised by a pack of wild animals. But instead of the animated characters and cheesy one-liners we’re used to, the teaser offers a realistic glimpse of the boy’s transition from jungle to society.
Who knew The Jungle Book could be so…moving (and dark!)?
