Mindy Kaling Secretly Gave Birth to Baby No. 2 (& We Already Have a Name)

Major congrats are in order for Mindy Kaling. The Office star just confirmed she secretly welcomed her second child in September.

Kaling announced the exciting news during Thursday night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. "I got something I rarely get these days, which is good news, so if you wouldn't mind sharing with our audience I think they'd be thrilled to find out something extraordinary that nobody knows up until this moment," Colbert said.

"Yes, I'm telling it for the first time now. It feels so strange," Kaling revealed, adding, "I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3rd. This is news to a lot of people. It's true!"

Of course, Colbert wasted no time asking the burning question we all wanted to know: What’s his name? "His name is Spencer. I forgot the most important part of it," the Mindy Project actress replied. Spencer Kaling? We kind of love it.

Kaling has managed to impressively keep the news of her pregnancy under wraps while she and her daughter, Katherine (Kit, for short), have been laying low in their L.A. home during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, according to E! News, paparazzi had spotted Kaling out on a walk in August, sporting what we now know to be a baby bump!

We’re not surprised that the 41-year-old actress kept the news a secret as she’s known to value her privacy. Lucky for us, she does give tiny glimpses into her family life with her 2-year-old daughter by sharing an occasional snap of the mother-daughter-duo in matching shoes, cuddling on the couch and even playing in their outdoor playhouse.

Congrats, Mindy. We can’t wait to learn more about baby Spencer.
