meryl streep

The 2020 Golden Globes nominations are in and Hollywood's biggest star made history yet again.

Meryl Streep just broke her own record and received her 34th Golden Globe nomination. The actress is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited-Series, or TV Movie category for her character Mary Louise Wright in Big Little Lies. After that screaming scene plus donning fake teeth for the role, we're not surprised she snagged the nom.

Streep is the only person to have been nominated for a Golden Globe 34 times (with composer John Williams coming in second with 26-lifetime nominations). Out of the 34 nominations, the actress won seven awards including Best Actress in a Motion Picture for The Iron Lady and Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for both Julie & Julia and The Devil Wears Prada. The last time she won for a television role was for the 2004's Angels in America

The Big Little Lies star made headlines after being cast in the hit HBO show as the mother of Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård).

Streep is joined in her Globes category by some major stars like Patricia Arquette (The Act)Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown) and Emma Watson (Chernobyl). BLL is also represented on the nomination list by Nicole Kidman for Best Actress.

We'll just have to wait until January 5 to see if Meryl wins, but after making history today, she's already a winner in our book.
