The Brits are saying “Cheers, Doria!” to Meghan Markle’s mother after she touched down in London to meet with her daughter’s future grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II (no pressure).
According to Good Morning America, Doria Ragland, aka mother of the soon-to-be royal bride Meghan, landed yesterday in London and will soon be meeting-and-greeting with most of the British monarchy, including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Duchess Kate, and staying at Kensington Palace until the day before the wedding. We hope she’s taking notes, since she’s reportedly in talks with Oprah for a tell-all interview post-wedding.
This week, Markle will get to introduce her mom to the future in-laws (she already met Prince Harry back in September at the Invictus Games) before the last-minute wedding preparations begin. On the day of the wedding, May 19, Markle’s mom will accompany her daughter to St. George’s Chapel in a royal car before Markle’s father, who arrives in London this week, walks his daughter down the aisle to be given away to Prince Harry.
At least the (probably) nervous bride will get a chance to enjoy some mom-daughter time with Ragland on Mother’s Day. Hey, Doria, can we call you “mum”?
