During her last day in Cape Town, Meghan Markle had the chance to chat with female business leaders and discussed the importance of motherhood and women's empowerment.
The Duchess of Sussex made a solo trip to the “Ladies Who Launch” meeting, which highlighted the skills and leadership of the female entrepreneurs who are hoping to improve the current employment opportunities in South Africa.
When discussing her conversation with the duchess, Matsi Modise, founder of skills training company Simodisa, stated that Meghan spoke about the importance of balancing career and family life.
“She talked about being a mother and having duties as a duchess and fulfilling what her heart desires—and that it can’t just fade away now that you’re a duchess. That you have to be true to who you are,” Modise told People. “She spoke about how we have to keep pushing and going forward, knowing that you are doing it for others who will follow. She wasn’t referring to being a royal, but life in general when you have challenges.”
