Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Held a Secret Meeting at Buckingham Palace Last Week

It turns out that Meghan Markle’s visit to the National Theater wasn’t the only secret meeting she held while in the United Kingdom. 

Yesterday, it came to light that the 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex and her husband also held a private gathering at Buckingham Palace in honor of one of their patronages last week.

According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hosted a “special conversation at Buckingham Palace with [The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust] young leaders, covering mental health, equal opportunities and the importance of supporting youth leadership for global changes and drive positive change.”

Scobie shared a video from the meeting in which Markle wears an orange pleated long-sleeve dress and greets six youth leaders.

During the meeting, the group talked about how the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust has helped young leaders build businesses and philanthropic initiatives while relying on one another. Prince Harry was quoted as saying, “There’s no way the older generation are going to be able to change their mindset unless it’s their children who are influencing the change,” during the discussion. The Duchess of Sussex also commended the leaders’ can-do attitudes, noting, “It’s saying, ‘Let’s not wait until there’s a problem and try and fix it, let’s try and stop the problem from happening to begin with.’”

According to the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, the leaders—Kenny Imafidon, Esther Marshall, Izzy Obeng, Victor Ugo, Kiran Kaur and Amna Akhtar—met through the program and were selected to attend the chat because of their ability to champion one another, fundraise for their businesses and find community support.
