Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Are Getting in the Holiday Spirit by Recognizing 12 Charities

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting in the holiday spirit by recognizing a dozen charities who are making a major impact.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared an Instagram post explaining that inspired by The 12 Days of Christmas, they are “continuing our monthly tradition of highlighting accounts that do good” and care “for those in need—especially at this time of year.”

The 38-year-old duchess and 35-year-old duke selected a wide range of organizations from around the world, including the Salvation Army UK, the LA Mission, the Trussell Trust, Lifewise New Zealand, Shelter Charity and the Felix Project.

They opened up about how they came to select each one, writing, “With the festive holiday season upon us, it’s also a reminder to reflect on those in need—those who may feel lonely, hungry, homeless, or may be experiencing the holidays for the first time without loved ones.”

The couple went on to write, “It’s an important time of year to help those around you who may be less fortunate, or who would appreciate even the smallest act of kindness.” So, to help bring charity work to the forefront of their followers’ minds, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex encouraged fans to “check out the accounts we have chosen and please share those in your own communities that are making a difference.”

They explained that they would also “love to hear about the ones that inspire you.”

In addition to the six aforementioned charities, the new parents highlighted the St. Felix Centre, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, FareShare UK, SSAFA Armed Forces Charity, Centre Point UK and Social Bite.

We can’t think of a better way for the royals to celebrate Giving Tuesday.
