Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Just Gave Their Meet-Cute Spot a Major Shout-Out

Once upon a time, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared their first date at Soho House in Toronto. Now, the parents to young Archie are celebrating the country that brought them together.

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked Canada Day with an Instagram slideshow that highlighted their shared history with the country. So what was included in the post? Sadly, not never-before-seen photos from their first date. They did, however, post pictures (below) of the 34-year-old Prince chatting with young Canadians, the pregnant 37-year-old duchess using Kate Middleton’s parenting technique, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at their first public outing together.

There was also a pic of Harry with an Invictus Games participant, one of him with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and even a snap of a tiny Roots letterman’s jacket baby Archie received.

“Happy Canada Day! Heureuse Fête du Canada!,” the caption began.

It explained the couple’s ties to Canada, saying, “Canada is a very special place for both the duke and duchess. The duke has been fortunate to visit the country several times throughout his life, including as a young child and most recently for the Invictus Games in 2017, where the now duchess joined him to lend her support.”

The caption went on, “The duchess lived and worked in Toronto for many years and also spoke at the One Young World Summit held in Ottawa. Earlier this year Their Royal Highnesses attended an event at Canada House in London to mark Commonwealth Day where they had the chance to meet many young Canadians doing great work here in the UK and around the world.”

The note ended with a potential hint about baby Archie’s future travel plans. “Their Royal Highnesses have always been touched by the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of the Canadian people. They hope to be able to visit again as a family, and they send their great thanks to all of the kind Canadians who have sent such special gifts for Archie! We hope you enjoy celebrating Canada Day with your family and friends,” the caption concluded.

We know Africa is first up on Archie’s travel itinerary, but perhaps Canada is next? Stay tuned.
