Toronto Charity Where Meghan Markle Used to Volunteer Reveals Their Nickname for Her: ‘The Lovely Meghan’

Long before she became the wife of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was already heavily involved in philanthropic work. In fact, one of the charities she supported just shared the heartfelt nickname they gave to the 38-year-old duchess back in the day: The Lovely Meghan.

It all started over the weekend when St. Felix Centre shared a never-before-seen photo on its official Instagram account. The pic was taken a few years ago and features Markle posing with a group of volunteers.

St. Felix Centre captioned the post, “We feel very grateful and honored to have been highlighted by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle, as one of 12 charities doing important work worldwide. This photo has Meghan volunteering in our kitchen!”

The charity went on to thank Markle for her continued support, adding, “Many people here have fond memories of Duchess Meghan volunteering with us—though we remember her just as ‘the lovely Meghan.’ We’re happy to see she continues supporting vulnerable people now as a member of the Royal Family. We’d love for her to visit us again one day.”

St. Felix Centre is a non-profit organization that is based in Toronto, Canada. The charity specializes in providing a safe, welcoming environment for people of all different backgrounds. Markle lived in Toronto while filming Suits and frequently volunteered at the facility.

“The Lovely Meghan” has an awfully nice ring to it, don’t you think?
