Meghan Markle Makes a Solo Visit to Johannesburg (& Her Entire Outfit Cost $300)

First, Prince Harry left behind Meghan Markle and their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, during the family’s ten-day royal tour of Africa. And now, the Duchess of Sussex, 38, is setting out on a solo excursion of her own, and her entire outfit cost $300. (Yes, you read that right.)

Earlier today, the Suits alum paid a visit to Victoria Yards in Johannesburg, South Africa, which is home to local design studios and art galleries.

Markle wore a button-down midi dress by Aritzia’s in-house label, Wilfred, which retails for $148. The duchess accessorized the look with a pair of Everlane’s Editor Slingback flats in the “Persimmon” color, which can be yours for $155.

Sure, it’s not every day we consider spending $300 on a dress and pair of flats. However, finding a Markle-approved look under $500 has become a rare occasion, so we’re not opposed to adding it to our holiday wish list.

During her solo outing, Markle visited several charitable organizations in Johannesburg, including Sneakers 4 Change and Tshepo, both of which are dedicated to helping the less fortunate.

The duchess documented the trip on her joint Instagram account with Prince Harry and shared a slideshow of photos (see above) highlighting her favorite moments.

The caption read, “While in Johannesburg today, The Duchess of Sussex visited Victoria Yards, which celebrates the power of community, bringing local artisans and ‘makers’ together to rebuild, support and learn from each other on a holistic level.”

Cue the Markle Effect.
