For over a year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kept their blossoming romance under wraps, but now, the princess in training finally opened up about their fairy-tale love story for the very first time.
In the October issue of Vanity Fair (on newsstands September 12), Markle gushed over her real-life prince beau and confirmed what we've known since early childhood—she's head over heels in love with Harry. “I can tell you that at the end of the day, I think it’s really simple: We’re two people who are really happy and in love,” she told the mag.
The pair first went public with their relationship in July 2016, but tabloids were quick to question Markle’s princess potential as not only a commoner (gasp), but a divorcée (the horror!). She went on to discuss the complicated nature of their relationship: “It has its challenges, and it comes in waves—some days it can feel more challenging than others.” But despite the complications, the Suits actress knows her man will always have her back. She continued, “I still have this support system all around me, and, of course, my boyfriend’s support.”
As for the couple’s future, Markle says they are enjoying their time together, and when the time is right, they'll take the necessary steps to, ahem, officially address the public. “I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us,” she added. You do you and you enjoy every. Single. Second.
